CUBS WIN WORLD SERIES!

Last night, I had the privilege of watching the Chicago Cubs win the world series. It was a true nail-biter and could have gone either way but the Cubbies came out on top. What a fantastic night for Chicago and sports in general.

I spent most of the game interacting with several members of the DreamReaders of Dreamspinner Press group which was a great way to share the nerves and excitement. Curses flew and plot bunnies were born.  It was so much fun!

Everyone on the Cubs team played an essential part in this win but I'd like to single out pitcher Kyle Hendricks who did a remarkable job in his usual unflappable way. This guy is a gem.

In honor of the win, I'd like to give away an audible book code for my novel Taste, which is set in Chicago. All you have to do to be eligible is comment on this post. A winner will be chosen on Sunday, November 6.

  3. I must recognise I was not invested in the world series. Baseball is not very popular in my country, so I do not know much about it. But it was great to follow the series through the feelings and comments of the people in the dreamspinner group. I loved the way you cheered your teams. Congratulations to both teams, it was an epic battle!

    1. I have to confess I ignored the sport for most of the season but I couldn't help getting more and more excited as the Cubs kept on winning. Could this possibly happen? Finally? It did!!!

  6. Congrats to the Cubs. I'm not a TV watcher so I'm always out of the loop in anything sports. I'm glad your team won, though. And what a way to getting new ideas flowing for new stories! :D

  9. While I'm sorry the Indians weren't able to win another championship for Cleveland, I'm happy the Cubs have their first World Series win after over 100 years. Congrats Cubs!

  12. Hello!

I'm not entering the contest but I wanted to pop in and say what fun it was to spend some online time with my Dreamspinner Press friends to watch the World Series together. I think those chats made the whole thing a hundred times more fun even if my team lost. I loved that Chicago dyed the river blue! That was most awesome. Mickie and I have met and spent a little time together at author workshops and it was great to have even more time with her. Big congrats to the Chicago Cubs!

    1. Thank you, Elizabeth. My sentiments exactly. The funny thing is I have raised 4 sons who played the sport, and was married to a jock who lived, breathed, and shoved baseball down my throat for years. I always found it a bit too slow, unlike hockey and football, but I got caught up in Cubs fever this year. Who wouldn't living in Chicago? Watching the World Series with you folks was so much fun. We'll have to do it again next year. Maybe this time your team will win:)
